Perceptions of Conflict and Cooperation
The project analyzes how individuals perceive events of conflict and cooperation. Scientific studies of international politics depend on the precise measurement of events at the international level, in which states, their leaders and other actors of importance interact with each other. Using an expert survey instrument, the project will analyze how specific events of international politics (e.g. foreign aid or economic sanctions) are perceived as conflictive or cooperative. The goal is to evaluate whether there is a homogenous understanding of these events or if individual perceptions vary.
