Dr Nicole Renvert joined Käte Hamburger Kolleg / Centre for Global Cooperation Research as a Postdoc Fellow. She conducted her research in Research Unit 1 “The (Im)Possibility of Cooperation” from February to May 2014.

Research Project at the Centre

Of Trust and Fear: Middle Eastern Research Institutes as Partners for European Foundations and Think Tanks

The project explores on the basis of three cases how Middle Eastern research institutes gradually develop into new political forces in the region. How can cooperation and exchange with their international counterparts work if these efforts are still hampered by a lack of trust and even fear? The project aims at developing a set of recommendations for these specific transnational actors on how to improve relations and make them viable partners.
