Research Project at the Centre

Varieties of Resilience

My project is located within the research unit 'Paradoxes and Perspectives of Democratization' and looks at the global promotion of resilience as a new means of responsibilising governments and citizens. It looks at how resilience works through a recognition of past failures and a denial of current understandings of intervention. It also links resilience to wellbeing and sustainable development as a new means of understanding peculiarly human characteristics.
