New coalitions of change for just & in-time climate protection?

15th Käte Hamburger Dialogue

With Niclas Svenningsen  (UNFCCC) and Fatin Tawfig (UNFCCC / UNU-EHS), and Andrés López Rivera (IMPRS-SPCE)

Moderation: Prof. Dr Dirk Messner (Director, UNU-EHS and Co-Director, KHK/GCR21)

The UN Summit of the Secretary General of the UN in September 2019 made clear that accelerating climate action is necessary to avoid dangerous climate change. “Fridays for Future”, as a transnationally organized movement, drives climate policy debates worldwide. Is Fridays for Future a game changer in international climate politics? How do they influence political and economic decision makers? Do they have an impact on the UN? How do they cooperate with science? And why is Fridays for Future so visible in public debates – nationally and internationally?

In cooperation with UNU-EHS and UNFCCC.

Venue: UN Campus Bonn, Room 2105, Platz der Vereinten Nationen 1, 53113 Bonn
