The one-day workshop brought together varieties of research on visuality in the social sciences and humanities, with an emphasis on its implications for global cooperation and contestation. Researchers working on different forms of visuality, including photographs, videos, memes, and performances were invited to present their current work and learn from each other. Besides looking at different visual media genres, the workshop aimed at showcasing and potentially comparing methodological approaches to the study of visuality, such as iconography, narrative analysis and more experimental methods.
