»Hier bei Käte«
Current trends on the subcontinent were highlighted, as usual from an interdisciplinary perspective. Having herself been involved in international climate negotiations in previous positions, Mrs Quennet-Thielen contributed her own experiences and inquired in detail about the status of the projects at the Centre. Particular interest was aroused by the introductions of the visiting academics present, where hardly a continent was missing, and topics were discussed ranging from resource distribution in Africa to transcultural understanding of democracy and decision-making in artificial networks. Particular recognition was also given to the Centre’s commitment to the city of Duisburg. It was noted that globalisation also always means helping to think about and encouraging local action. The Secretary of State expressed her thanks for the opportunity to have a brief and exciting plunge into the lively discussions “hier bei Käte”.
