Dr Inanna Hamati-Ataya is Principal Research Associate and Principal Investigator on the ERC-funded project ARTEFACT as of March 2018, and founding director of the Centre for Global Knowledge Studies (gloknos), since September 2017. Her ongoing project ARTEFACT aims to develop a novel understanding and theorisation of ‘the global’ by examining the constitution and transformation of global political structures from the anthropological perspective of humankind’s epistemic development. With Arlene B Tickner and David L Blaney, Dr Hamati-Ataya is co-editor of the Routledge book series Worlding Beyond the West. In the past years she has served as chair of the International Political Sociology section of the International Studies Association, as trustee of the British International Studies Association, and as member of the European International Studies Association’s Governing Council.

Regina Kreide is Professor of Political Theory and History of Ideas at the Institute of Political Science, Justus Liebig University, Giessen. Her research focus is on global justice and democracy. Member of the working groug on 'Democracy' of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science, Berlin and Member of the Fachbeirat "Demokratie", Gerda Henkel-Stiftung, Düsseldorf . Kreide is a Co-Director (Co-Sprecherin) of the Collaborative Research Center (Sonderforschungsbereich) 'Dynamics of Security' (SFB-Transregio 138) financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and a Project leader of the Sub-project 'Between Minority Protection and Securitization: Roma Minority Formation and Transformation in Modern European History' (Collaborative Research Center 'Dynamics of Security', German Research Foundation). Since 2008 she is a Co-editor of the book series on 'Political Sociology' with Nomos publisher (together with Andrew Arato and Hauke Brunkhorst).

Mirjam Künkler (Ph.D. Political Science, Columbia University) is Research Professor at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS). Before joining SCAS, she taught Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University, where she also directed the Oxford-Princeton research cluster on 'Traditional authority and transnational religious networks in contemporary Shi’i Islam', and co-directed the Luce Program on 'Religion and International Affairs' for many years. She is a founder and PI of the Iran Data Portal and sits on the boards of various academic journals in the fields of Sociology, Islamic Studies, Political Science, and Law.

Marie-Laure Salles became Director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in September 2020. She was Professor at the Centre de sociologie des organisations (CSO) at Sciences Po Paris and Dean of the School of Management and Innovation, a school she launched there in 2016, as well as a Professor at ESSEC Business School. Her research interests range from the role of social networks in the transnational diffusion of rules, practices and ideas, to the historical transformation of capitalism and national institutions. She has published broadly on those issues in top academic journals and books, and has received several awards, including the prestigious Max Weber Award for Distinguished Scholarship from the American Sociological Association in 2000. Salles was made a Knight in the Legion of Honour by the French Government in 2017 and is a member of the International Gender Champions Network.
