'Speculative Realism' Reading Group Sessions

Speculative materialist thought challenges the subject-centred approaches to knowledge associated with the Enlightenment and suggests that we need to develop new ways of relating to the world. The reading group sessions will be focusing on two influential books from this movement. Both sessions take place at the KHK/GCR21 meeting room from 17:00 to 19:00 h. Each session will start with a short input introduction from Prof. David Chandler / Dr Pol Bargués-Pedreny. The reading group sessions are opened to the public and particularly addresses members of the universities as well as interdisciplinary MA students.

On Monday 20th March
Prof. David Chandler will introduce Ray Brassier, Nihil Unbound:Enlightenment and Extinction (2007). Available at Amazon here. There is also a free version available here.

On Monday 24th April
