We are pleased to announce two upcoming talks by Research Group Leader Nina Schneider. Both events correspond to the research interests of the Centre and engage with themes which contribute a unique perspective on academic engagement in an increasingly interconnected world.
On Wednesday, December 1st, Nina will present ‘Gobineau’s Race Theory in the Americas: On the Reception History of the Essai sur l'inégalité des races humaines’. The talk is a contribution to the ongoing lecture series ‘Xenophobia and Racism in History’ organized by the History Department at the University of Duisburg-Essen. On Friday, December 3rd, Nina will also act as discussant in the roundtable ‘Navigating a Minefield? Global Knowledge; Global Conversations; Decolonising Knowledge; and Global South Intellectuals’. The session is part of the webinar series ‘Global Knowledge, Global Conversations, Critical Issues: A more critical global conversation on world politics’, organized by City, University of London and chaired by Professor Inderjeet Parmar (City, University of London) and Dr Juvaria Jafri (City, University of London; Cambridge). Other speakers in the panel include Pinar Bilgin (Bilkent), Karin Fierke (University of St Andrews), and Vivienne Jabri (King's College London).
