Convening on 9th November ten German Chancellor Fellows will be holding a public online forum on various topics at TEDxKanzlerPark. Internet Governance Advisor Nathalia Sautchuk-Patricío, hosted by the Centre for Global Cooperation Research during her research stay in Germany, will present on 'Why an Open Internet Matters' (4:50 pm CET).
After the successful first edition of TEDxKanzlerPark in 2020, the second edition will take place as a digital TEDx event on 9 November 2021 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (CET). The event language is English. TEDxKanzlerPark is organised by fellows and alumni of the Humboldt Foundation’s German Chancellor Fellowship and aims to forge and initiate more academic global collaborations. Ten thinkers, doers, changemakers, and innovators are getting together to discuss a variety of topics divided into three thematic sessions: 'Building a Common Future', 'Change of Perspective', and '(Un)Harnessing the Internet'.
In line with TED’s motto 'ideas worth spreading', the ten talks will give insights into the speakers’ projects and experiences in Germany and beyond and emphasise the value of spending a year at a German host institution. The programme will provide opportunities to discuss the topics covered in the talks in Q&As after every thematic session. It will also include a musical piece and guided meditation.
The Centre is hosting Nathalia Sautchuk-Patricio from October 2020 to February 2022. Nathalia takes part in the Centre's activities and— inspired by an approach developed at the Centre—presented on 'Revisiting Net Neutrality from a Polycentric Perspective' at a colloquium in May. Her research project is entitled ' Learning from the German experience on promoting and protecting the open Internet: the cases of network neutrality and the fight against illicit online content'.
The German Chancellor Fellowship
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s German Chancellor Fellowship Programme is targeted at university graduates from Brazil, the People’s Republic of China, India, the Russian Federation, South Africa, and the USA who have an international outlook and initial leadership experience. It addresses prospective decision-makers, multipliers and thought leaders from a broad range of professional fields. This fellowship programme is intended to give them the opportunity to spend a year in Germany exploring new solutions to the global issues of our times and widening their networks.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, often in the form of short talks delivered by leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED conferences, intimate TED Salons, and thousands of independently organized TEDx events around the world. Videos of these talks are made available, free, on TED.com, and other platforms. Audio versions of TED Talks are published to TED Talks Daily, available on all podcast platforms.
